You are invited to attend a talk, hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham), on February 13 (Monday) by Mr Richard Lui, a news anchor for MSNBC who previously also worked at CNN Worldwide and Channel News Asia.
He will talk on “Fake news: Cyberwarfare’s cousin is more than misinformation”.
Mr Lui will explore not only the various permutations of fake news which have affected journalism, elections and their outcomes, but also the environmental factors allowing it to exist. He blends decades of experience in content, journalism and technology to provide solutions for those who are worried, counter-measures for those targeted and actionable steps for those looking to leverage the changing content landscape for good political, monetary and social outcomes.
About Mr Lui:
He is a thought leader at the intersection of media, social impact and storytelling with 30 years of experience in network television, technology and business.
He has focused in his television career on politics, business and civil rights. He has covered US national elections since 2004, providing analysis to each new change (like impact of social media) and interviewing many politicians. From last year, he has been focusing on the fake news dynamics new to politics.
Mr Lui is also a technologist, having launched five technology brands. He is also a UN Spokesperson for the HeForShe Campaign, one of 200 active US State Department Traveling Speakers and ambassador for NGOs focusing on gender equality and human trafficking.
