Dear Member

The Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS) is staging an exhibition of Judd Kinne’s collection of images of the Vietnam War at the Loke Wan Tho Gallery in Selegie Art Centre from March 22 to April 10, 2019.

Tim Page, the British photographer who made his name during the Vietnam War by bringing moving images of the conflict to the world, will speak at the official opening of the exhibition at 6.30pm on March 22 (Friday).

He will also deliver a fund-raising photo talk entitled “Remembering Vietnam War” on March 23 (Saturday) from 3pm-5pm at Vatos Urban Tacos, a Korean-Mexican restaurant (36 Beach Rd, Singapore 189766.)

He will recount his experiences shooting the Vietnam War with his portfolio of images and those of his fellow photojournalists who were killed during the conflict.  According to him, three Singapore photographers were also killed during the conflict.

PSS is inviting members of the Singapore Press Club to attend this fund-raising photo talk which will be moderated by Patrick Daniel, President, Singapore Press Club. Cost: $100 per person for the pre-talk lunch at 1.30pm and $75 per person for only the talk at 3pm.

Proceeds from the sale of tickets will go towards funding PSS Spark non-profit photography programme for street youths held in collaboration with Fei Yue Community Services.

Those attending the fund-raising talk will also be invited to a special private preview of the Vietnam War exhibition at 6pm on March 21 (Thursday). Tim and Judd will attend this special preview. You can register for the talk at support@pss1950.org
