In Commemoration of World IP Day
The US Embassy is extending a special invitation to Singapore Press Club members to attend the screening of two movies – Big Miracle and It’s a Wrap. The embassy’s hosting the screening jointly with the Motion Picture Association (MPA) to commemorate World IP Day.

Synopsis of Movies
Big Miracle is a film based on the 1989 book ‘Freeing the Whales‘ by Tom Rose, which covers the true story of ‘Operation Breakthrough,’ a 1988 international effort to rescue whales that were trapped in the ice near Point Barrow, Alaska. The movie stars Drew Barrymore playing a Greenpeace volunteer. Along with her reporter ex-boyfriend (John Krasinski), she convinces rival world superpowers to come together and help save the whales. The cast of this romantic drama film includes Kristen Bell, Ted Danson and Rob Riggle.
It’s a Wrap is an educational video that goes behind the scenes to provide an insight into the workings of the Singapore film industry and how a movie is made.
There are 30 tickets to be given away. To register, please send an email to secretariat@pressclub.org.sg giving your name, membership number, occupation and cellphone number.
You may invite up to one (1) guest but you’ll need to submit his/her name and occupation in advance. If the response exceeds the number of free tickets, a ballot may be conducted.
