This event gives you a unique opportunity to hear leading news anchors – CNA’s Glenda Chong, BBC’s Rico Hizon and CNN’s Manisha Tank – tell their career stories. The session and Q&A will be moderated by Eugene Leow, Presenter, Editor and Digital Strategist with Singapore Press Holdings.
This free-of-charge event will provide insights on:
- The key factors which influenced the panellists’ career success
- How TV news is likely to change in the next five years
- What factors journalists should consider when building a career in the media
- What impact is technology having on the panellists’ careers today

About the panellists
Glenda Chong anchors CNA’s Primetime World and is the co-host of Primetime Asia. An award-winning presenter, she returned to Singapore in March 2011 after serving as China Correspondent for three years in Shanghai. Highlights of her work include reporting on the 2008 Beijing Olympics, covering the devastating aftermath of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
Rico Hizon joined BBC World News in 2002 in Singapore, where he is the presenter of the daily business and finance programme Asia Business Report. He also co-presents Newsday. In his almost 25 years as a broadcast journalist he has interviewed personalities in the financial, political and sporting worlds including Bill Gates, Tony Fernandes and Warren Buffet.
Manisha Tank is an award-winning journalist, news anchor and TV presenter who has worked for the biggest names in international news media over the last 20 years. At Thomson Reuters, The BBC and CNN International she has anchored flagship shows, including the award-winning News Stream on CNN.
