Members recently joined in an exclusive celebratory dinner combining the Singapore Press Club's 50th Anniversary and Singapore’s 56th National Day in August at our signature networking Makan Kakis Dinner at The Spot Restaurant.
The Spot is a trendy multi-concept venue located in the heart of Marina One, comprising a restaurant, bar and cigar lounge. The various spaces are functionally interwoven so diners can enjoy each activity on its own or in combination with the others, creating a seamless wine-and-dine experience.
The special menu is curated for the occasion by Executive Chef Lee Boon Seng, whose repertoire in classic French techniques is steeped in South East Asian sauce-centric influences. We savoured dishes such as Singapore Style Trout Ceviche, Pan-fried Red Snapper on Green Curry Emulsion, Pork Cheeks BBQ ‘Bak Kwa’ Style and a delightful Licorice Root Ice Cream dessert.
The event was held over three nights in tables of up to five and arrivals timed apart with safe distancing protocols in mind. It was three fun-filled networking evenings even as members respectfully kept to their tables.
