As a brief background, Advisory (www.advisory.sg) is a fully youth-led nonprofit that aims to empower young Singaporeans from all walks of life to make informed career and further education choices. By breaking down the barriers that young people face in finding out about occupations and industry, Advisory endeavours to level the playing field and support students aged 16-25 to pursue their aspirations. Founded in 2016, they’ve done this through an online repository of interviews (viewed more than 186,000 times by more than 84,000 users), their online and offline industry engagement events and learning journeys (which have engaged over 7,000 students), and support for schools. Their work has been featured by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong; Minister Grace Fu; and Senior Parliamentary Secretary Baey Yam Keng; covered by media outlets like Channel NewsAsia, The Straits Times, Berita Harian, Vasantham, Rice Media, The Smart Local, Shin Min Daily, Lianhe Zaobao and Lianhe Wanbao; and been endorsed by such institutions as the National University of Singapore, the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, and the Rhodes Trust.
