Discover Singapore’s hidden secrets in a first-of-its-kind walking tour!
Journey into the past with an ex-offender tour guide to once-sprawling opium and gambling dens, on streets where police cases of triad members took place.
Guided by ex-offenders, the hour-long tour spans five pit stops, with both guides examining the area's history while sharing about their past with personal anecdotes of their former gang life.
Alvin Chiong, one of the guides has shared that “With this project, ex-convicts can contribute too. I hope to mentor and pass this on. Instead of asking for help all the time, I want to break this cycle. We can help ourselves, contribute and help others too.”
Finally, hear first hand accounts in a up-close and personal dining experience with an ex-offender who will share their personal stories over a wholesome meal! *For those who have not been vaccinated, takeaway meals can be arranged.

This programme is organised in partnership with two social enterprises Actxplorer and Architects of Life.
Date: 25 September 2021, Saturday
Time: 5.30pm - 7pm
Venue: Chinatown. Location for meet up will be advised once you're signed up and confirmed
If weather permits, the tour will proceed. During inclement weather, the tour will be postponed to another Saturday date to be advised to participants. Tour size is capped at 20pax, with 10 persons per tour guide, and split into sub groups of 5. All groups of 5 must be distanced at all times to comply with social distancing conditions.
Singapore Press Club members: $70 (price is inclusive of dinner at a cafe/not vaccinated participants can have dinner as a take-way) - 10% discount offered if you do not pay with your SRV (SingapoRediscovers Vouchers)
Non-SPC members: $100 (Cash or SRV vouchers)
