On 23 May 2022, Singapore Press Club Golf Classic event was held at the Keppel Club. For our members and guests of over 130 players, it was the last chance for them to play at this 118 years old Bukit Chermin golf course before its tenure ends and the place is turned into a residential site with HDB blocks.
Singapore Press Club Golf Classic is an annual event of the Club to cater to members keen on golf and it forms part of the Club’s Golf League Challenge where members play in a series of games organised by the Club to compete among themselves for the annual Singapore Press Club Champion’s Trophy. The league games include members versus corporate honchos and ambassadors with the finale Golf Classic game to determine the winner with the higest accumulated stableford point scores of their best 3 games.Â
Event and Sponsors
At Golf Classic 2022, golfers enjoyed a lunch before a shotgun tee off wearing the Singapore Press Club golf tee shirt. Thanks to Suntory Beverage & Food APAC, Ribena Sparkling and CC Lemon drinks and Ribena Jelly packs were available to the golfers to quench their thirst and to replenish their energy during a very hot and sunny day.
And at the end of the day, after the game, golfers enjoyed pre-dinner cocktail servings of Roku Gin at the bar, a Japanese Craft Gin that takes you on a journey through the four seasons with six Japanese botanicals - sponsored by Beam Suntory.
Besides a sumptious dinner held at the Keppel Hall, the participants had unlimited servings of the award winning triple distilled for extra smooth Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which has been matured in three different cask types, giving it its toffee and sherry flavours - kindly sponsored by Beam Suntory.
After food, drinks and entertainment, the winners were announced. The Best Lady and Male golfers won attractive golf bags. Players also had a chance at the Novelty prizes - packs of Brands Essence of Chicken for longest drive, nearest to line, within the circle, sponsored by Suntory Beverage & Food APAC .
