The Glorious Lion City – A Law Wai Lun Concert
Dear members,
You are invited to an evening of fine music and dance at the Singapore Chinese Orchestra’s new season Opening Gala concert.
As Singapore celebrates National Day, the concert will launch Prince Sang Nila Utama and Singa and other works by SCO’s new Composer-in-Residence Law Wai Lun.
This fantasia piece with Nanyang music elements is inspired by the legendary founding of Singapura and will feature Indonesia’s Padnecwara Dance Group.
Next, enjoy a Medley of National Day Parade Theme Songs by Robert Fernando.
in the masterpiece The Celestial Web, MediaCorp artiste Guo Liang and Capital Radio 95.8FM DJ Xu Bing will perform with the SPH Chinese Choir and SOKA Chorus.

Members are also welcome to attend a Pre-concert Talk at 6pm on 18 August (Sat) only.
Law Wai Lun and SCO’s Music Director Tsung Yeh will share interesting anecdotes about the concert.

To register, please send an email to secretariat@pressclub.org.sg giving your name, membership number, current occupation and handphone number.
Please also specify (1) Which concert night you wish to attend (2) Whether you wish to attend the pre-concert talk on Sat as well.
Your guests are welcome but please submit their names and occupations in advance. The concert is not suitable for children under 6.
Registration closes at 5pm on 12th August (Sun).
As SCO is hosting this event, kindly ensure that you can turn up before registering as tickets will be reserved for you and not released to the public.
