You are invited to meet author Alan John, a veteran journalist and editor, who has just launched his second book “Good Grief!”.
“What a wonderful potpourri about family, friendship, children, travelling, work and living a full life. At times sweet, occasionally sad, it’s often very funny, wise, honest and deeply human. A highly recommended read!” This is how the book has been described by Tan Tarn How, playwright and IPS senior research fellow.
When: February 4 (Thursday), 6.30pm to 9pm
Where: Singapore Press Club Connexion, Level 2, Shanghai Dolly, 3B River
Valley Road, Singapore 179021
Light refreshments will be served.
At the session, Alan will talk about the book and his 35 years as a journalist and an editor with The Straits Times. He headed various desks of Singapore’s main English-language daily before becoming deputy editor, the position he held when he retired last year. It will be followed by a Q&A.
Alan will also be available for signing copies of his book purchased on that day. ST Press is offering the book at a special discounted price of $18 (compared to the retail price with GST of $22) for only that day.
All Singapore Press Club members are welcome to attend and can bring guests, but you need to register at this link http://spc-meet-alanjohn.eventbrite.sg by February 2 (Tuesday) to gain entry to the Singapore Press Club Connexion.
