Dear Member
You are invited to meet our former colleague, Vasuki Shastry, author of the book Resurgent Indonesia: From Crisis to Confidence published by Straits Times Press, which will be released in Singapore on March 15.
The session with Vasuki is on Friday, March 16, from 4pm at Singapore Indian Association, Balestier Road. He will talk about the book and it will be followed by a discussion and Q & A.
See the attachment for further details.
A well-known business and economics journalist in India, Singapore and Indonesia, before joining the International Monetary Fund in 1998, Vasuki gives a gripping inside account of Indonesia’s steep decline after the Asian financial crisis and its improbable recovery and rise in the ensuing two decades. He covered the tumultuous fall of Suharto for The Business Times and continued to work on matters related to Indonesia at the IMF.
He was the head of communications at the Monetary Authority of Singapore between 2001 and 2003. He currently lives in London with his wife and works for Standard Chartered Bank.
Please register your attendance with secretariat@pressclub.org.sg by March 10.
Light refreshments will be served.
An admin fee of $10 will be charged if you cancel your registration after that date.
Best regards
