The Singapore Press Club is partnering Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and invites you to attend a “Discussion with Peter Kuznick: the rise and fall of the American Empire”.
Professor Kuznick will be discussing the impact of the Trump presidency on prospects for world peace, the long crisis in the American media, popular understandings of the Korean and Vietnam wars, reflections on the major geo-political crises of the post 1945 period, and the Asian origins (and possibly ends) of the American Empire.
Peter Kuznick is professor of history and director of the award-winning Nuclear Studies Institute at American University. In 2012 he and Oliver Stone co-authored the 10 part Showtime documentary film series and book The Untold History of the United States.
His other books include Beyond the Laboratory: Scientists as Political Activists, Rethinking Cold War Culture (co-edited with James Gilbert) and Rethinking the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Japanese and American Perspectives (co-authored with Akira Kimura).
