Singapore Press Club Awards get new category, new sponsors, at 5th year of signature event

Nominations for the Awards and Hall of Fame inductees now open.

Singapore, 02 March 2026 - The annual Singapore Press Club Awards will see the addition of a new award category, and new sponsors, as the signature event returns for its fifth year in 2026.The new award - Best Corporate Communications Leader - along with the other awards and Hall of Fame inductees, aim to recognise outstanding journalists and media-related professionals who have excelled and contributed to building a vibrant media industry in Singapore. 

Citi returns as overall presenting sponsor for 2026, along with Telum Media as sponsor of the Rising Stars Young PR Professional Award, City Developments Limited (CDL) sponsoring the Sustainability Journalism Award, and CLA Global TS sponsoring the Finance Journalism Award. The Health and Wellness Journalism Award has a new sponsor, IHH Healthcare, while Bitdeer AI is the new sponsor of the Tech Journalism Award.

The new Best Corporate Communications Leader Award is sponsored by ContactsBook.Asia.

As in past years, winners will each receive, along with their prize and certificate, a two-night staycation worth $1,000 - sponsored by Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR).

Nominations are now open, and will close on 30 April 2026. Award winners and Hall of Fame inductees will be announced at the Singapore Press Club Awards Night on 15 July 2026 to be held at the Pan Pacific Singapore.

Rising Stars Awards for outstanding young media professionals

The Rising Stars Awards seek to recognise and celebrate young talent (below 35 years of age as at 31 December 2025) by recognising excellence in their craft and the impact of their work. There are three sub-categories: 

  1. The Rising Stars - Young Journalist Award is aimed at young journalists who have excelled in their professional craft and served as role models.
  2. The Rising Stars - Young Digital Journalist Award is for young journalists who have excelled in visual-storytelling using digital tools to create exemplary user experiences.
  3. The Telum Media - Singapore Press Club Young PR Professional (Rising Stars) Award aims to recognise young public relations professionals who have displayed exemplary media relations skills and exhibited professionalism and partnership in their work.

 CDL - Singapore Press Club Sustainability Journalism Award

With sustainability being the critical global challenge of our time, the Sustainability Journalism Award recognises journalists who have made an impact in changing public attitudes, behaviours, and policies that further the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)*. 

The recipient of this award must demonstrate commitment and passion to leave a better world for future generations. The judging criteria will focus on a nominee’s impact on social trends and attitudes; a consistent track record; impact on behaviours; and impact on national policies.

CLA Global TS - Singapore Press Club Finance Journalism Award

The Finance Journalism award recognises a journalist who has demonstrated commitment and passion to deliver finance news - be it breaking news or insightful storytelling, useful analysis of complex and ever-changing financial issues, and debunking misinformation - through their work in the media.

The Health and Wellness Journalism award recognises a journalist who has demonstrated commitment and passion to deliver health and wellness news and analyses, to help bring complex and ever-changing health issues and innovations to the public.

ContactsBook.Asia - Singapore Press Club Best Corporate Communications Leader Award

The Best Corporate Communications Leader award will honour a senior corporate executive who has demonstrated strategic leadership, skill at managing a crisis, and integrated good communications into the company’s business objectives.

Prizes for award winners

All winners will be presented with a trophy and certificate, as well as a two-night staycation for two worth $1,000, sponsored by Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR). Winners can choose any one of the MHR hotels.

Hall of Fame to honour industry veterans

The Hall of Fame aims to honour veterans of the media for their outstanding and lasting contributions to the profession and the industry. The Hall of Fame includes journalists, leaders in the media as well as media-related professions such as public relations, sales and marketing, and also academia. 

Nominees must be aged 65 years or above as at 31 December 2025, and have worked for at least 25 years in the media or a media-related profession. Honourees can also be inducted posthumously.

Nominations are now open

Nominations for the Singapore Press Club Awards 2026 are open until 30 April 2026. The Singapore Press Club invites members and those in the industry to nominate deserving candidates for the awards. Members of the judging panels include Singapore Press Club management committee members, industry leaders, and representatives from the sponsors.
