Malaysia after the general elections: What’s ahead
Malaysia’s Nov 19 general election was a watershed, and the first sitting of Parliament on Dec 19 will see a vote of confidence promised by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. What do the election results and coalition formation portend? Are there underlying trends that could affect the new government’s plans? Helping to address some of these questions is a panel of seasoned observers of Malaysian politics, who were on the ground during the hustings.
