About the Speaker:
Dr Rasmus Kleis Nielsen is Director of Research at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and serves as Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Press/Politics.

His work focuses on changes in the news media, on political communication, and the role of digital technologies in both. He is the author and editor of several books including The Changing Business of Journalism and its Implications for Democracy (2010, edited with David Levy), the award-winning Ground Wars: Personalized Communication in Political Campaigns (2012), and Political Journalism in Transition: Western Europe in a Comparative Perspective (2014, edited with Raymond Kuhn).

He gives frequent presentations at both academic conferences and industry events, and his work has been covered by a range of news media including the BBC, the Economist, the Financial Times, the Guardian, and various other international media.

Asian Conference for political communication (Sept 4-5)

The first Asian Conference for Political Communication will be held on September 4-5, 2017, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore. It is the biggest gathering of communication experts in academia, politics and government in Asia and the Pacific.

The organiser, political think-tank Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, is providing up to 30 tickets to the Singapore Press Club members at a nominal fee of $45 nett.

Time flies, especially happy times.

It’s time once again for the Singapore Press Club annual golf tournament, and this year will be the 10th edition!

The event will be held at Warren Golf & Country Club on Friday, 29 September, with an afternoon shotgun start.

First, the fee for participation is set at a hard-to-refuse value – just $128 for members. This covers the green fee, a branded T-shirt, lunch, and a sumptuous dinner. And there’s more: a generous goodie bag at registration and plenty of exciting lucky draw prizes at dinner.
