The Singapore Press Club is proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2021. As part of our anniversary, we are launching a new membership drive to invite media and communication professionals and organisations to join the Press Club as a member.
We have 5 categories of memberships (only for residents of Singapore) Regular (for practising media professionals) Associates (for Marketing & communications professionals in non-media companies) Corporate (for companies who can nominate 3 or more staff as members and participate in all Press Club events) Social and Student members are by invitation only (no voting rights and members may only participate in social, cultural and sporting events as determined by the Management Committee).
Find out more about the memberships from this link https://pressclub.org.sg/memberships-new/
As the mission of the club is to connect media professionals in Singapore, we would be happy to invite you to join our network of media professionals. We hope this will help you or your organisation to get to know the media better and help in your work.
For instance, we have our Freelancer Network to connect with media members who can take up ad-hoc assignments and corporate members can also leverage on this network to engage communication expertise for certain projects. See details of our Freelancer Network at https://pressclub.org.sg/freelancers-network-profiles-of-our-network-members/.
As part of the Club’s special 50th anniversary series of events and promotions, we are offering a “3 years for 2” where you enjoy 3 years of membership but pay only for 2 years subscription fee. So now would be a good time to join.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the Club has launched many new initiatives in year 2020, such as our Freelancer Network and we have partnerships with organisations such as NTUC’s U-Associates to offer curated training programmes (relevant to corporate members too) and a knowledge webinar series.
We professionalised our secretariat with a general manager (Janet Wee) and set up an investment committee to invest our modest reserves to earn better returns. We also plan to convert the club from a society to a non-profit company limited by guarantee (CLG) in 2021.
As soon as we can, we will resume our signature networking events (e.g. Press Ball, overseas goodwill missions, annual golf tournament and eminent speaker series) and would warmly welcome new members like you to join us.
